What Is a Power Reaper Machine?

A power reaper is a compact, self-propelled harvesting machine that cuts standing crop close to the ground and lays it in a neat windrow for collection or threshing. Unlike a combine harvester, it does not thresh the grain — which is exactly why small and medium farms prefer it: the straw stays whole and usable as fodder, and the machine costs a small fraction of a combine.

The operator walks behind the machine (or rides it, with our reaper seating arrangement) and steers with two clutch levers. One person can clear a field that would otherwise need a team of eight to ten labourers, and the work finishes on the day it was planned instead of waiting on labour availability during the harvest window.

Two 5 HP Models — Diesel and Petrol

We manufacture the power reaper in two engine options so farms can match the machine to how they actually use it:

• SI101-B3D — 5 hp Greaves diesel, 3-belt drive. Recoil start, 4.5 litre tank, 800–1000 ml fuel per hour, 250 kg. Handles crop up to 10 feet tall. Best for custom-hiring work and continuous daily use where running cost per acre matters most.
• SI102-B2P — 5 hp Honda GX200 petrol, 2-belt drive. Recoil start, 3.1 litre tank, 700–900 ml fuel per hour, 230 kg. Lighter and easier to start, ideal for own-farm use on 2 to 5 acres with crop between 2 and 6 feet.

Both models share the same chassis, hardened cutter bar and TVS LM45 agricultural tyres, run at 3600 RPM, cut as low as 4 cm, average 5 kmph working speed and keep total crop loss under 0.5%.

Power Reaper Specifications

Overall dimensions are 2.5 × 1.5 × 1 metre. Construction is mild steel with engineering-plastic and iron components, controlled through a clutch lever and links mechanism. Crops This Power Reaper Harvests

Wheat, paddy, barley, oats, soybean, mustard, maize, bajra (pearl millet), jowar (sorghum), ragi, sunflower and green fodder crops. The low 4 cm cutting height matters most in wheat and paddy, where recovered straw becomes fodder stock or a saleable commodity rather than residue to be burned.
