Walking behind a reaper through standing crop for eight hours is the part of harvesting that wears people down fastest. It is also the reason many farms finish early, or need two people rotating on one machine. A seating arrangement removes that constraint for a fraction of the cost of another machine.
What the attachment is
Model SI103-SA is a 70 kg mild-steel bolt-on frame on TVS 3.50-8 tyres, with a cushioned seat and a foot-operated control lever. It fits both petrol and diesel Sunidhi reapers, installs in about 30 minutes with basic hand tools, and needs no welding or permanent modification. It comes off just as easily if you want the walk-behind configuration for a tight plot.
Foot control keeps precision
The concern people raise first is whether steering accuracy suffers when seated. It does not — the clutch lever and links mechanism extends back to the seat, and the control lever is operated by foot. Running speed stays at the usual 5 kmph average.
The trailing support wheel
With an operator seated, weight distribution changes. A trailing support wheel keeps the machine balanced and stable, including over uneven ground, so the cutter bar holds its height instead of nodding.
